2018 Canoe Marathon Masters World Cup Day 1

The 2018 Canoe Marathon Masters World Cup kicked-off on Monday in Vila de Prado, in the municipality of Vila Verde, in Portugal.

The first day of the two-day event saw the K1s on the Cavado River with Australia’s paddlers posting some strong results.

Paddle Australia’s women paddlers posted top results with Cathy Venning (40-44), Lorraine Harper-Horak (60-64) and Ann Lloyd-Green (65-69) all finishing second in the K1 in their respective age groups. Jenni Bateman (40-44) and Pauline Findlay (55-59) finished third.

Brett Greenwood (50-54) and Peter Currie (60-64) were the top ranked Aussies in the men’s event and finished fourth and sixth respectively.

Racing continues today, Tuesday 4 September with the K2 events.
