Paddle Australia is committed to fostering inclusion and diversity for all athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, staff and supporters.

What is inclusion?
Inclusive behaviours are pro-active, aimed at ensuring people from all backgrounds, ages and abilities feel welcome, respected and safe. In-line with the values of a ‘United paddling community’ our clubs, states and Paddle Australia are committed to actively promoting inclusion in our sport.

What is diversity?
Diversity can include differences in racial and ethnic, socioeconomic, geographic, gender, sexual orientation, ability and age. In-line with the values of a ‘United paddling community’ our clubs, state associations and Paddle Australia are committed to actively encouraging diversity in paddling.

What is belonging?
Belonging is an individual’s sense of acceptance. Belonging is the result of the level of inclusion an individual feels in their environment. Inclusion is being asked to dance but belonging is like dancing as if no one is watching!

There is a place for everyone in our sport, exactly as you are.

Inclusive Culture?
To have an inclusive culture starts with you – starts with us!

Policies are the backbone, supporting piece. We are the ones to make the change and make a difference.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you are unsure or would like a better understanding. Asking for help – this is not a sign of weakness but a sign of strength to better ourselves.

Let’s truly work together to be the best version of ourselves that will flow to be the best version of our sport. Let’s work together and make a difference – be one, unified, and build a strong community – working as one!
