RESIGNATION OF ANITA TAYLOR FROM AC BOARD

Australian Canoeing director, Anita Taylor, has resigned from the board due to family matters. Following a death in the family, Anita will be reducing her number of commitments to focus her time on her highest current priorities. Anita expressed her disappointment at having to step down at “such a pivotal time for the sport. “ “ I truly believe that this is the beginning of an exciting time for Australian Canoeing/Paddle Australia and I look forward to celebrating (from the sidelines) in the successes to come. “

“Anita brought a wealth of experience in governance to the board that has been of significant benefit to the organisation,” said Andrea McQuitty (President, Australian Canoeing). “Improvements that occurred due to Anita’s input will have ongoing impact on Australian Canoeing. She is leaving the organisation in a far better position to move forward as it transitions to become Paddle Australia. There are many people who will benefit from her work.”

Australian Canoeing extends its best wishes to Anita and her family. Her presence and contributions will certainly be missed but AC looks forward to continuing the changes initiated through her work.
