NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR 2023 PADDLE AUSTRALIA ANNUAL AWARDS

Paddle Australia is excited to announce that nominations for the 2023 Paddle Australia Awards are now open. 

The Annual Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements and contributions of the paddling community across a 12-month period. They also provide a platform to honour those who have contributed to the sport over a number of years, and an opportunity to reflect on the achievements and highlights of our community.

Members of the paddling community are able to provide nominations for contributions deserving recognition over the period 16 September 2022 – 15 September 2023. 

The Paddle Australia Honours and Awards Panel will meet to determine the winners of the Awards in accordance with the Life Membership, Annual Awards and Hall of Fame Policy

Award categories open for nomination

  • Paddler of the Year – Olympic / Paralympic
  • Paddle of the Year – Non-Olympic / Non-Paralympic
  • Paddler of the Year – Junior
  • Paddler of the Year – Paracanoeist
  • Paddler of the Year – Master
  • Coach of the Year
  • Team of the Year
  • Technical Official of the Year
  • Olegas Truchanas Award
  • Services to Paddling Award
  • Excellence Award
  • Award of Merit
  • Life Membership
  • Hall of Fame

Nominations for the PA Annual Awards and Life Membership will close on the 15 September 2023. Nominations for Olympic/ Paralympic Paddler of the Year and Coach of the Year will be accepted until the 29 September 2023 to accommodate nominations made following results at the 2023 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships.

Additional award categories for Volunteer of the Year, Club Coach of the Year and Instructor / Guide of the Year will also be presented.  These are State Paddle Association progression awards and are not open for public nominations. Nominations will be submitted to PA by each SPA.

Paddle Australia is pleased to confirm the 2023 Paddle Australia Annual Awards will be held on Saturday 28 October at the Twin Towns Clubs & Resorts, Tweed Heads.
