2024 PA CANOE SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIPS COMES TO A CLOSE IN PENRITH

The final races of the 2024 Paddle Australia Canoe Sprint Championships have been run and won after a massive five days of racing at Sydney International Regatta Centre.

More than 200 paddlers from across the country raced in 298 events over the five days, with a number of National Champions crowned.

But it wasn’t just national titles up for grabs, with the teams for the Junior and U23 World Championships, as well as the Asia Pacific Cup named in Penrith today.

All attention was on the final races of the day, with athletes proudly donning their home colours for the State v State K4 races.

In the women’s K4 500 State v State, the NSW combination of Kailey Harlen, Natalia Drobot, Jasmine Locke and Olivia Clues took out the gold medal. The Queensland crew of Alyce Wood, Aly Bull, Ally Clarke and Susan Seipel won silver, while Josie Bulmer, Caitlin Smyth, Caitlin Webber and Demi Bates from South Australia won bronze.

NSW claimed back-to-back titles, when Riley Fitzsimmons, Noah Havard, Harrison Taurins and Fletcher Armstrong won gold in the men’s K4 500 State v State.  South Australia took out second spot and Western Australia finished in third.
