Aussies wrap up 2023 ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships

The 2023 ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships and Masters Championships in Vejen, Denmark, witnessed a strong Australian presence with 33 athletes competing across the junior, U23, senior and masters age categories.

Junior paddler Aiden Han, hailing from Victoria, offered a firsthand account of his experience: “The highlight for me has to be watching the men’s open races. The calibre of paddlers and the challenging course were truly inspiring.”

Han said he was in awe at the event’s electric atmosphere. “Likewise, the atmosphere was incredible. Never before had I seen such a crowd for canoe marathon racing.” This enthusiasm was shared by many, as spectators flocked to support the athletes in their pursuit of excellence.

As the dust settles on the 2023 ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships and Masters World Championships, our Australian athletes can be proud of their efforts. The event provided a platform for athletes to shine, learn, and compete at the highest level, and the Australian team embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and pride.
