DELFOUR JUST MISSES WORLD CUP PODIUM

Lucien Delfour has missed the podium by the narrowest of margins at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup in Augsburg, Germany overnight.

The NSWIS athlete finished second in the Kayak semi final before placing fourth in the final run, missing a podium finish by just over a second.

Having qualified through to Friday’s semi final, Tim Anderson finished 21st while Ben Pope was 25th.

In the women’s Kayak, Noemie (14th) and Jessica Fox (26th) both missed out on the final, however it was better news from their Canoe heats earlier in the day. Jessica Fox was second in Canoe qualifying with Noemie 17th, meaning both athletes are through to today’s semi final.

In the men’s canoe, Tristan Carter (16th) is through to the semi final while Kayla Bassett finished 38th and Brodie Crawford was 55th.

Action continues this afternoon with the Canoe semi finals which will be streamed live via Planet Canoe’s new streaming platform Recast – click here to find out more. Finals will be broadcast live on Kayo Sports from 7:30pm.
