As part of Paddle Australia’s (PA) commitment to creating ongoing learning and development opportunities for its community, PA will be introducing some new programs.
One of which is ‘Paddle Helper,’ a program designed to support clubs, leaders and other training groups to facilitate guided programs in a safe and supportive environment. Paddle Helper will become a level of certification, for a person that can help other qualified coaches and leaders facilitate sessions in any environment or water type.
PA Participation and Training Manager Mark Thurgood said the Paddle Helper qualification forms part of the broader review of learning and development currently being conducted by PA.
“Our community has a rich connection to paddling, and an eagerness to continuously develop their practical skills,” Thurgood said.
“The learning and development project aims to allow our clubs, paddlers and sport to learn and grow. We are focusing on creating opportunities to foster support, connection and engagement. Paddle Helper is the first piece of this puzzle and will help our sport on this journey,” he said.
