Paddle Australia is pleased to announce the Canoe Slalom National Development squad for 2023.
The National Development Squad has been designed to identify young paddlers with the potential to reach current and future national teams, and provide opportunities for paddlers to learn what is required to train and race at an elite level.
11 athletes from across the country have been selected in the National Development Squad for 2023, including National Junior team members Hunter Florisson, Riley Galea, Claire Clements and Sarah Crosbee.
Paddle Australia Performance Pathways Lead (Canoe Slalom) was pleased to see a strong field of nominees for the National Development Squad, and is excited to work closely with the group over the next 12 months.
“There were some wonderful young paddlers nominated for the National Development Squad this year,” Lawrence said.
“The strength of the juniors across the country is a testament to the great development that is happening in our state hubs.
