Paddle Australia offers members second LGBTQ Awareness session

In collaboration with Pride in Sport, Paddle Australia would like to offer all members the opportunity to participate in a free LGBTQ Awareness session.  Paddle Australia is committed to fostering inclusion and diversity for all athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, staff and supporters.

This 90 minute program is an introductory session for anyone interested in learning more about the LGBTQ community and inclusion. This is an interactive session where questions are encouraged and discussions are held in a respectful and safe environment.

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Understand the business case for LGBTQ inclusion and explain why it is important in a sporting context
  • Understand some of the lived experiences and unique challenges for LGBTQ people and the impact to sporting organisations
  • Understand the diversity of, and differences between sex characteristics, gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation
  • Learn some introductory actions individuals can take to create a more inclusive sporting culture.

Paddle Australia Session 2: Monday 6 February, 7pm (AEDT, Sydney/Melbourne/Canberra)
