Paddle Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Annabelle White as our new Sport Operations Manager. Annabelle was previously Sport Operations and Events Coordinator (SOEC).
Annabelle brings a strong background to the role, having completed a Masters of Sports Management at Bond University and holding key administrative roles at local and state level in Queensland. Annabelle was recruited to Paddle Australia as SOEC in February 2022. Joining at a challenging time as we emerged from COVID, her work ethic, communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving ability and attention to detail have seen her consistently impress.
“Since joining Paddle Australia, Annabelle has demonstrated that she has the experience and skills to deliver to a high standard operationally whilst making a great contribution strategically. This is a combination that is essential in our Sport Operations Manager,” said Paddle Australia CEO Phil Jones.
“We look to Annabelle and her team to manage and support events and teams, whilst providing learning, development and other programs for instructors, guides, coaches, officials, volunteers and paddlers,” he said.
“There are some great opportunities to further develop paddling and I am really looking forward to the challenge’, said Annabelle.
“As well as all the ‘business as usual’ work we do, we have some great events on the horizon, including a host of Oceania and two World Championships, all of which will allow us to really showcase the excitement and diversity of paddling.
“I look forward to working together with our State Paddle Associations, Discipline Technical Committees and other stakeholders, all of whom make such a great contribution, as we continue to develop paddling around Australia,” she said.
To allow a focus on strategic priorities, and with the support of the PA Board, a contractor is providing support in the Learning and Development area, with a specific focus on Coaching and Paddle Education. Paddle Australia is currently recruiting for a National Team and Events Coordinator who will report to Annabelle. Further resources will be recruited in the near future.
