It is critical that we keep paddling, both as a sport and recreation, safe and fair for everyone who participates. As such, Paddle Australia seeks to take a proactive approach to mitigate integrity threats to paddling, and will adopt Sport Integrity Australia’s National Integrity Framework, effective 1 July 2022.
The National Integrity Framework is all about safeguarding our sport, our Clubs, our people and our members. An overview of the National Integrity Framework can be found here.
Please familiarise yourself with the policies as they come into effect from 1 July 2022 and will apply to you and your Club.
The policies of the National Integrity Framework are:
- Anti-Doping Policy
- Member Protection Policy
- Child Safeguarding Policy
- Competition Manipulation and Sport Wagering Policy
- Improper Use of Drugs and Medicine Policy
- Complaints, Disputes & Discipline Policy
To address matters that fall outside the National Integrity Framework, Paddle Australia has worked with the National Sports Tribunal to develop a series of policies that are complementary to the National Integrity Framework. These policies relate to issues that individuals and paddle organisations find themselves dealing with from time to time.
Like the National Integrity Framework, these policies come into effect from 1 July 2022 and will apply to you and your Club so please also familiarise yourself with the following new policies:
- Code of Behaviour Policy
- Conduct and Disciplinary Policy
- Review and Appeals Policy
- Personal Grievances Policy
In the coming weeks and months, Paddle Australia will be working with our Clubs to help with the understanding, adoption and embedding of these policies, and we will continue to communicate with members around what it means for you.
