2022 PA Canoe Slalom – Newsletter 2

Dear Canoe Slalom Community,

Paddle Australia, in partnership with Paddle Tasmania and Derwent Canoe Club, are excited to welcome the Canoe Slalom community back to Bradys Lake for the 2022 Paddle Australia Canoe Slalom Championships from the 21st-24th of April, 2022. This year, participants will have the exciting opportunity to participate in three days of training camps prior to the commencement of competition. The All States program will be an exciting addition to the much anticipated Bradys Lake program and will provide training opportunities for all levels of Slalom paddlers.

Entry and Event Details 
Registrations are now open via JustGo. Individuals interested in participating are encouraged to enter via JustGo here. Information about the 2022 PA Canoe Slalom Championships including the competition schedule can also be found on the JustGo portal.
Venue
Bradys Lake is located in the Central Highlands region of Tasmania in an isolated locality. Attendees at the 2022 PA Canoe Slalom Championships can expect temperatures of 10-12 degrees Celsius during the day and 0-5 degrees Celsius overnight. The competition organising committee will endeavour to make participants and spectators as comfortable as possible through providing tea and coffee with fires to be burning through the day but all are encouraged to pack warm. The closest local shop (The Bronte Store) is a 20 minute drive and has some basic supplies.
All States Camp
All States camps are open to all paddlers, we have scheduled 5 sessions over three days. To register please visit the JustGo portal here.

Social Events 

The 2022 PA Canoe Slalom Championships organising committee would like to invite all participants to attend two lunches across the course of the week. If you and your family would like to attend please purchase tickets here.
  • 20th of April, 2022 (Curry prepared by the famous Nepalese cooks at Derwent Bridge Hotel)
  • 23rd of April, 2022 (Sri Lankan Hoppers prepared by Tassie Hoppers)
Parents, siblings and friends are all encouraged to attend the social lunches, subsidised tickets are available in the link provided.
COVID-19
Please endeavour to abide by local guidelines across the course of the event. Participants attending the competition are encouraged to bring a RAT test for personal use in the case of symptoms. CLICK HERE for more.
