PA Wildwater Canoeing – Newsletter 1

Dear Canoe Wildwater Community,

Firstly, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Lucy Warhurst and Paddle Australia (PA) has recently engaged my services in the position of Sports Operations Manager. I will be assisting all PA paddle disciplines, including Wildwater.

The last few years have been challenging for everyone with the Covid-19 pandemic. PA is very proud of the way our united paddling community has remained resilient and continues to be fluid with the plans for local and national level competitions. We are all looking forward to the upcoming 2022 paddling season for our community to reunite and participate in some great paddling competitions.

Although the situation around the country has improved in recent weeks, we are all aware that things can change incredibly quickly in this environment. With this in mind, the Paddle Austraila Canoe Wildwater Technical Committee (PACWTC) continues to work incredibly hard to have contingency plans in place for all activities.

Next week the PACWTC will disseminate further information to the Wildwater paddling community regarding the upcoming season. The update will cover the 2022 PA Wildwater competition program, and the 2022 PA Selection Procedures Policy and Wildwater Selection Criteria Supplement.

Yours in paddling,

Lucy Warhurst and the PACWTC
