Who will represent Australia at the 2021 Canoe Slalom World Championships?

Australia will be represented by four athletes at the 2021 Canoe Slalom World Championships.

Jessica Fox will start a red-hot favourite in the women’s C1, after  winning  gold at the discipline’s Olympic debut in Tokyo. With an  Olympic bronze in the women’s K1 from Tokyo, Fox was also this month crowned the overall K1 World Cup champion for 2021. Having won the World Championship title three times before, she will no doubt be a contender for the crown.

Dual Olympian Lucien Delfour made the Olympic final in Tokyo in the men’s K1 and will be hoping to hit the same form in Bratislava. Having incurred some tough penalties during the last two World Cups of the season, Delfour will be looking to bounce back at the World Championships.

Noemie Fox will join her big sister at the 2021 World Championships, competing in the women’s C1, K1 and Extreme Slalom. Having made her way to the kayak final at the World Cup in La Seu, and recording promising times in Pau, Noemie will be one to watch in Bratislava.

Rounding out the Australian contingent is young gun Kaylen Bassett, who will compete in the men’s C1 and Extreme Slalom. Bassett made his World Cup debut in La Seu earlier this month, and is relishing the experience of racing the world’s best paddlers.

Where are the 2021 Canoe Slalom World Championships being held?

Bratislava, Slovakia. Rated amongst competitors as one of the most beautiful, yet difficult courses in the world, the Canoe Slalom venue in Bratislava is set to challenge the best of paddlers.
