Expression of Interest – Nomination to the Board of Directors

Paddle Australia (PA) is seeking two new Board Directors to be part of the team that will guide the organisation through the next phase of the exciting transformation already underway. The new Directors will work with the current Board and CEO to continue the implementation of the nationally agreed strategy for Paddling in Australia.

PA is the National Sporting Organisation (NSO) responsible for the management, coordination, development, and promotion of paddling in Australia. PA represents the interests of its members to government and the public. PA’s vision is for ‘A United Paddling Community’ and to connect all Australians through paddling, both recreational and competitive, with a commitment to high standards of education, performance, and safety.

PA is recognised by the International Canoe Federation (ICF); Oceania Canoe Association (OCA); Sport Australia (SA) and Australian Institute of Sport (AIS); Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) and Paralympics Australia.

As the peak body for paddling activities in Australia, PA works collaboratively with six (6) State Paddle Associations (SPAs), around 125 active clubs, eight (8) disciplines and approximately 12,000 members, instructors, and coaches.

There are currently six members of the PA Board, comprising five (5) Elected Directors and one (1) Appointed Director. The Board is now seeking two (2) additional Appointed Directors, one with a digital and information systems management background and a second with workforce and change management experience. An Expression of Interest Document providing full background can be found at this link.

Expressions of Interest should be in writing, with a letter addressing the key criteria and include a resume of no more than four pages. Information should be sent by email to arrive by 5.00pm on Friday 18th September 2020 and directed to:
