Paddle Australia Canoe Slalom Championships

The Paddle Australian Canoe Slalom Technical Committee (PACSTC) met to develop a Strategic Plan for Canoe Slalom in Australia. Amongst other items the PACSTC considered both the challenges faced by previous Paddle Australia Canoe Slalom Championships and how to ensure that future versions meet our sport’s requirements.

In 2020 Paddle Australia will host two distinct competitions, designed to support the aims of the Strategic Plan for Canoe Slalom in Australia. The PACSTC has decided on the following:

  • The Paddle Australia Canoe Slalom Age Championships will be a competition for all athletes from ages 12 to Masters. The competition will acknowledge athletes by age, club/school and state.
  • The Paddle Australia Canoe Slalom Championships will be a separate competition held on more difficult water and will be run as an Open competition. This Championships will acknowledge the best slalom Athletes in Australia by event. Selection may be included within the Championships.

The 2020 Paddle Australia Canoe Slalom Championships will be held:

  • 2020 Paddle Australia Canoe Slalom Age Championships will be at the Mersey River, TAS from the 2-5 January 2020.
  • 2020 Paddle Australia Canoe Slalom Championships will be held at Penrith Whitewater, NSW Stadium from 10-12th January 2020.
