Ken Wallace to Contest Ocean Racing World Cup

Good luck to our paddlers, who will be racing at the 2018 Ocean Racing World Cup – Nelo Summer Challenge in Portugal this weekend: 31 August – 2 September.

The 2018 Nelo Summer Challenge will be an open downwind race of 19.5Km, connecting Viana do Castelo to Ofir’s beach in Esposende.

From this event athletes can obtain ranking points for qualification for the 2019 ICF Ocean Racing World Championships to be held in France in October 2019.

Australia’s most prominent paddlers at the event is Olympic Champion Ken Wallace. Also contesting the summer challenge are Casey Haynes, who will be representing Australia at next week’s Marathon World Championships in the K1 U23 as well as Mario Vesely, who recently won a medal at the Sprint Masters World Cup and will also contest next week’s Marathon Masters World Cup.

Plus we also have the Chair of our PA Ocean Racing Technical Committee and a member of the ICF Ocean Racing Technical Committee Rob Jenkinson, as well as Julie Jenkinson, member of the PA Ocean Racing Technical Committee on the start line.
